Low-cost speed controller for small motors
MD-1 is an ESC (Electric Speed Controller) exclusively for small motors. It is compatible with brushed motors up to size 370. Compact and lightweight, the MD-1 has a flat design for easy installation in RC car kits and construction sets, and can be easily fixed with commercially available double-sided tape.

Neutral brake specification” suitable for controlling robots and craft sets
The MD-1 is available in two versions: one with a brake and back (R/C car ESC), which is the same as the standard R/C ESC, and the other with a neutral brake (neutral brake version), which is suitable for robots and craft sets.

The neutral brake version does not allow the motor to coast, making it easy to use for robots and caterpillar construction sets. Unlike most ESC settings, it will back up as soon as the throttle (gas pedal) of the radio (transmitter) is pressed in the reverse direction while the motor is moving forward. The brake is applied by returning to neutral (center point).

For use in robotics and electronic construction
MD-1 can be used with brush motors of 370 type or smaller. MD-1 does not have a power circuit like general ESCs, so please use “No. 26014 Switch Harness BEC (for MD-1)”, “No. 26002 Switch Harness BEC” or “No. 26012 Power Unit NEW connector” should be used.

Also available for LED and buzzer control
MD-1 can also be used as a driver for LEDs and buzzers; by removing the protective transparent tube of MD-1, the wiring can be replaced. The pattern is large enough to make it easy when wiring with a soldering iron, but if you are not confident, please work on the wiring under the supervision of someone with experience in electronics work.

Caution when using lithium batteries
Since MD-1 operates over a wide voltage range of 3 to 6.6v, it is not equipped with a protection circuit such as LiPo cut. when using lithium batteries such as LiPO or LiFe, please be careful of voltage drop due to motor load. We recommend that you determine the performance and number of motors to be used in advance.
