Description:
This is a material used for "chipping," a technique used in military models to express a condition in which the color of the vehicle body peels off to reveal the color of the underlying body. After the base coat is applied with lacquer paint, the chipping liquid is applied with a brush or airbrush, and then a top coat of acrylic paint is applied. After the area to be chipped is moistened with water and left for a few minutes, the top coat of acrylic paint can be easily peeled off with a toothpick or similar tool. Since the paint is actually peeled off, it is different from scratches painted on with a brush to create a realistic expression of damage.
Basic Specifications
40ml square bottle. Safe water-based type. Use lacquer paints (LP, TS, AS, Surfacer) for the base color (glossy and metallic colors are not acceptable). Use acrylic paint for top coat.
Peeling will vary depending on how the chipping liquid is applied and how much time elapses after the top coat is applied. Please test the chipping liquid beforehand to get a sense of how the chipping liquid will peel off.
Please refrain from masking as the topcoat will peel off.
Clean the equipment with water.
